A Day as a Local Farmer

When visiting Tra Que Vegetable Village—one of the most interesting tourist spots in Hoi An—don’t miss the chance to experience the life of a real farmer. Local residents will guide you step-by-step and carefully show you how to loosen the soil, sow seeds, water the plants, and harvest vegetables. Although the work may be a bit tiring, you will finish the experience with a deeper understanding of a farmer’s life and a genuine feeling for the simplicity and charm of the countryside.

Basket Boat Ride for Sightseeing

Sitting in a basket boat, weaving through rows of lush green coconut palms and enjoying the fresh air, is a unique experience loved by many visitors. At the Bay Mau Coconut Forest tourist area, there are two types of basket boats: smaller ones that carry 2 passengers and larger ones for 4 passengers. During the journey of sightseeing and cruising, you’ll hear interesting stories about the coconut forest, accompanied in the distance by the familiar melodies of traditional Quang folk songs.

Cycle Through the Countryside of Hoi An

Experience the beauty and peaceful charm of Hoi An beyond the ancient town. This countryside cycling tour takes you through quiet villages, green rice fields, and scenic rural paths where you can truly feel the slow, authentic rhythm of local life.

As you pedal along, you’ll pass by water buffalo grazing, farmers working in their fields, and traditional craft villages. Enjoy fresh breezes, stunning views, and plenty of opportunities for photos. Along the way, you can stop to meet local families, learn about their daily activities, and discover unique cultural traditions that make Hoi An so special.

This relaxing and refreshing journey is perfect for nature lovers, families, and anyone who wants to explore Hoi An in a more intimate and meaningful way.

Cooking with the locals

Hoi An has long been recognized by prestigious magazines as one of Asia’s most attractive destinations, consistently earning the title of Asia’s leading cultural city. In particular, Hoi An’s cuisine is remarkably diverse and appealing: CNN describes “the dishes in Hoi An’s ancient town as a blend of various culinary traditions, creating fascinating diversity,” and Tripadvisor names “Hoi An’s cooking class tours among the top 10 unique travel experiences in the world.”

Visitors especially love the chance to visit the market to choose their own ingredients and spices, then cook their own dishes in half-day cooking classes—an exceptional experience that no cookbook can offer.

  1. excellent tour

    Fleur Wijers (verified owner)

5 hour tour with Khanh is the best day of my holiday in Vietnam. We went to the Hoi An rice fields, enjoyed coffee and learned to cook a Vietnamese meal. He sent us several beautiful photos after.

  2. Excellent food

    Tracy Lee

Amazing experience! The market visit was interesting and insightful and we tried some local treats. The basket boat trip was great fun and we enjoyed the ride to the restaurant. Our guide Khanh, who is a fantastic storyteller and inspirational man, welcomed us into his restaurant and his family worked together seamlessly to show us step by step how to create a wide selection of traditional dishes. The whole afternoon/ evening was incredibly well organised and executed with love and attention. A huge thank you for making my birthday so special.
